Projection mapping by VJ Catalyst
Bringing back together the multidisciplinary team responsible for last year’s Space Is the Place at A Place Gallery, this show finds illustrator Maressa Roberts (Em’s Revenge) and digital artist David J. Lajas, aka Catalyst, teaming up again. The two have been hard at work in the interim, with each presenting new works individually – an audio-interactive projection mapping display from Catalyst and new pop-culture refracting visual art from Em’s Revenge. Additionally the duo will debut two installation pieces they cooked up jointly. Along with sinister (but glam) house beats from DJ/style maven Deviant Art Heaux – whose A-Shop now occupies the former A Place space, if you’re a stickler for conceptual unity – the event promises full sensory overload. Repurpose pop fizz and high art and make it your own.
