For now, at least – meaning right this very moment – there’s a nip in the air. Of course, that’s subject to change at literally any given moment, so much so that it feels like if we acknowledge it too much, it will go away (like the Detroit Lions winning games), but for now it’s the time of year when the scorching oppression of the summer lifts and Floridians want to go out and do some moving. As if on cue, here come Knoxville, Tenn., indie-rock breakthrough Royal Bangs, a band whose music seems custom made for jumping up and down. From the trio’s pulsating backbeat to their smile-inducing electronic quirks and major-chord anthems, their crystalline sound is the sound of right this very moment. They’re helped out on this bill by Brooklyn feel-good act Bear Hands, the slightly more earnest Young Buffalo and good-for-any-season locals the Pauses. – Justin Strout (with Bear Hands, Young Buffalo, the Pauses; 7:30 p.m. at Back Booth, 37 W. Pine St.; $8-$10; 407-999-2570; backbooth.com)
