Bands with three girls and a guy always seem to start off on the right foot. Maybe it's because they act like they have something to prove. This hard-rocking quartet is no exception. They stick to safe ground, running through the usual sonic poses and '80s riffs -- even getting Go-Go's producer Richard Gottehrer behind the boards.
The result is a devastatingly unoriginal rave-up of the first wave of "female rockers" that is as enjoyable as it is formulaic. The girls sneer, the guitars snarl and the drums pound like a drunken headache as the listener is magically transported to a place where Joan Jett and the Runaways rule.
Seems there is a little gold left in the punk-rock girl mine after all.
