This most recent release, a double disc sold separately ("Westcoast" and "Eastcoast") is an impressive demonstration of just how far a night can go when those directing it have so rich an understanding of rhythm and a limitless palate for hypnotic ambience.
Much of the "Eastcoast" disc maintains a sparse mystery that only occasionally overflows into a frenetic release of electronic crescendos. On the "Westcoast" disc, the groove is frantic with dark washes of bass taking a back seat to the fast-paced, hi-hat-driven beats of the recording's more effervescent components, as Sasha and Digweed dig deeper into the happy-house inflections of L.A. nightlife.
