Drummer Jud Ehrbar was the center of a very small universe of highly underrated indie bands in the mid-'90s. Space Needle was but one; he also did time in Varnaline with Anders Parker (who also worked in Space Needle) as well as Reservoir. Scratching your head? That's not entirely surprising, as Ehrbar (and his bands) were also the majority of the roster on the disastrous indie label Zero Hour, an outfit so full of potential and so devoid of clues, they signed the Notwist and then had no idea what to do with them. Thus, it's up to the fine folks at Eenie Meenie (home to Oranger and Troubled Hubble) to rescue these bits of cracked, self-indulgent indie introspection from obscurity. At once lo-fi and sprawlingly psychedelic, this disc collects the highlights of the group's albums and singles on Zero Hour, as well as some mind-bending live material.
