Eli Roth directed this very Eli Roth TV spot for Universal's Halloween Horror Nights 2017

Universal Studios has enlisted filmmaker Eli Roth for this year's first Halloween Horror Nights television commercial, and as you can see it's so very very Eli Roth.

Titled “The Mourning After,” the 30-second commercial follows a group of teens through a mansion filled with freaks and familiar faces from The Shining, American Horror Story, and Saw. Of course, one of the teens wakes up the next morning and is relieved to discover it was just a bad dream ... or was it?!

You've been Rothed.

Known for blockbuster horror films like Hostel and Cabin Fever and as the "Bear Jew" in Inglorious Basterds, Roth is a longtime fan of Halloween Horror Nights and has previously served as a creative consultant.

"I first got involved with Halloween Horror Nights as a fan – I felt that I was in a horror movie and I didn’t want it to end,” said Roth in a statement. "For this spot, I wanted to pay homage to these brilliant and scary films, and yet put my own spin on it."

There's also a behind-the-scenes extended director's cut, which is worth watching.
Halloween Horror Nights will run from Friday, Sept. 15, through Saturday, Nov. 4, and tickets are available at halloweenhorrornights.com.
