Awesome and the Ass Kickers have been silent long enough, and their first release in five years, Quit Fucking With Our Crops, acknowledges this by opening with an introduction to "the greatest band ever." If you make it through "AAK Anthem" without chanting along, you're probably listening wrong, and jokey premises aside, album standouts definitely include the 1-minute ripper "So Punk Rock" and "Mohawk." The album dropped in June, following a raucous release party at West End Trading Company in Sanford, which they recorded live here.
