A sunny day for heavy hearts when House of Lightning returns with Wrong at Backbooth

Just a few months back, the walls at Backbooth trembled to sustain House of Lightning’s force. The group was nearly buried under a loaded bill that included other excellent Florida acts Torche and Wrong. If you showed up late, you missed House of Lightning’s bracing thrash spectacle that dazzled people smart enough to show up when doors opened. In case you need to rectify, check out their 2014 release, Lightworker. The 10 brightly doomed tracks with carefully finessed build result in a muscly offering that rocks straight through. Good thing Backbooth brought the Winter Haven band back this time as a headliner, and just as sunny for heavy hearts: Wrong returns too. The heavily pedigreed Miami band (Kylesa, Torche) released their scarring debut EP Stop Giving, and we’re still riled up about it.
