Tasty news: More pizza coming soon to College Park

We've been hoping someone would take over the space last occupied by the Hangar Grille (2305 Edgewater, at Vassar Street), and now we hear our wish has come true: Armando's Cucina Italiana & Pizzeria, currently a Hannibal Square hotspot, will open a second location there in College Park.

When we reviewed Armando's back in 2012, we raved on Armando’s San Giovanni pizza – "fired in a custom-built brick oven, with a wonderfully blistered crust atop which lie sautéed mushrooms, shaved mozzarella, truffle oil and fried eggs" – saying, "It’s no wonder this whitewashed funhouse is so packed that reservations are an absolute must." Here's hoping this second store eases the crowding while retaining the quality.
