RIP local Grass Roots frontman Rob Grill.

The NYT has a great obit for local resident and the longtime singer for the '60s pop act Grass Roots, Rob Grill, who died Monday at 67.

“The Grass Roots weren’t the hippest band on the block,” The Boston Globe wrote in 1989. “But they were — and remain — a sure-fire guilty pleasure, a blissful package of pure pop.”
