Yesterday, Digital Music News posted this handy map that identifies "the Most Distinctive Bands In America."

Their findings are based on Spotify data and other data services he used to compare tastes between different regions. (It's explained fully here.) And so I just couldn't wait to find out what you all have been scrobbling, and you, my Floridian friends, did not disappoint. According to this very official study, Florida LOOOOOOOVES it some Rick Ross. Kudos on us for supporting one of our own (he was raised in Carol City, Fla.). Other state's standouts range from predictable (they're into George Strait in Texas?! no way) to seeming misallocation (what's that Philly boy doing in Portland and that Seattle icon in Rhode Island?), but I wanna just pinch the cheeks of Illinois for reppin' Sufjan.

Not currently fulfilling your civic duty and streaming Rick Ross this very second? We better fuckin' fix that. Enjoy what many critics say is his best album, 2010's Teflon Don:
