Wine AND chocolate? Sounds like the perfect festival

This weekend, Lakeridge Winery hosts a festival honoring two of the best things to ever touch our lips: wine and chocolate. On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 -14, the Clermont winery celebrates fermented grapes and roasted and ground cacao at its annual Wine and Chocolate Festival, which features live music, wine and chocolate tastings, local crafts and more.

Admission for the event is only $2, which goes to support the Leesburg Regional Medical Center Heart Institute, so not only are you noshing on some sweets and sipping on some wine, you'll be doing it to support a local organization that promotes heart health. And you know, researchers say a glass of wine and some bits of dark chocolate are good for your heart.

If you've not made it out to Lakeridge Winery before, it's worth the 30-ish minute trip to check it out. During the festival, the winery will be holding its normal completely free tours and tastings, but by the end of it, we predict you'll want to take home at least a bottle. Pro-tip: Lakeridge's port is damn tasty and worth a sip ... or eight.
