Follow your nose to Tim's Market

Have you ever wondered why people swirl wine in the glass and sniff before sipping? When you inhale, what aromas should you notice? If you don't know, you have company.

Tim's Wine Market on Ivanhoe Row (1223 N. Orange Ave.) bridges that gap with its popular series of wine classes. "An Introduction to Wine" is scheduled for Sept. 29 and Nov. 4. Connoisseurs will walk you through the process of wine tasting and swirling, which allows the wine to meet the air and develop a "bouquet" of aromas.

Wine making, grape growing, and food and wine pairings also will be discussed. And the fall series continues with such topics as "New, Great Wines of Spain" (Oct. 7) and "Tour of France" (Nov. 11). Classes are held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and cost $20 to $30. To reserve a spot, call 895-9463.
