eat pork, drink beer, help kids

... at the Pig, Pilsner & Panua party 6-11 p.m. Saturday, June 9 at Palmer's Garden & Goods.

Tony Adams of Big Wheel Provisions is hauling out his famous china box to roast two pigs, there will be locally handcrafted IPAs (brewed by a Ravenous Pig chef!) and live music, and it all profits the Panua Project, an agricultural and job-training program in Naivasha, Kenya. Allison Palmer, owner of Palmer's Garden & Goods, is heading to Kenya for a mission to serve the Panua Project, which helps orphaned siblings continue living together (rather than being sent to state-run orphanages) through a combination of grief counseling, job training and agricultural development programs. Which is all very noble, of course. But also: ROAST PORK AND HANDCRAFTED IPA. This is a can't-lose situation, right? Tickets are $50 and are still available; call 407-896-5951 or email [email protected] to get yours. Palmer's is located at 2611 Corrine Drive, near Leu Gardens in lovely Audubon Park.
