Filmapalooza Paris 2018
The 48 Hour Film Project is an international contest where aspiring filmmakers scramble to create an intelligible short film, from script to screening, in the space of two days. Each team has to use a specific character, prop and line – each assigned randomly – to prevent cheating by starting work early. A panel of judges in each city pick a favorite and send it on to Filmapalooza, the crowning event of the 48 Hour Film season. Winning films from around the world get screened at the Cobb Plaza Cinema, with one ultimately winning the year’s prize. Filmmakers can attend workshops and parties specifically for those in the trade, but the price is steep. Luckily, you don’t have to pay the full price if you just want to see the flicks; you just have to get there early enough to secure a seat.
