Get ready to bust a gut with Jay Chandrasekhar

The man behind Super Troopers is coming to Orlando – Super Troopers as in the early 2000’s cult classic featuring a dysfunctional highway police squad, not to be confused with ABBA’s 1980 number one hit single, “Super Trouper.” (I only mention this because, before watching the movie, I thought [and hoped] there would be some sort of connection. Alas, I was wrong, and my thirst for more Swedish disco-pop went unquenched.)

Regardless, Jay Chandrasekhar of Broken Lizard comedy will be at Backbooth Friday, June 28, bringing the same absurd, yet wildly funny punches to his stand-up comedy that he’s brought to his blockbuster projects like Beerfest, Club Dread and the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard, which he directed.

Larry Fulford opens and Alex Luchun hosts, both of the comedy troupe Good at Bad Decisions: “comedians who celebrate a lifetime of poor choices with hilarious results.” Show up when doors open at 9 p.m., as seating is limited and the show promises to start on time.

So although Orlando didn’t score an ABBA revival concert (I know it’s off topic, just bear with me), we did manage a Hollywood famous actor/director/writer who decided to stop by on his comedy tour. Not bad, Orlando. Not bad at all.
