A SunRail train hit and killed a man who was standing on the railroad tracks Monday morning in Orange County.

Orange County Fire Rescue says the crash happened around 10 a.m. near East Oak Ridge Road and South Orange Avenue. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

WKMG 6 reports Florida Highway Patrol officials say the man had his back turned to the train when he was fatally struck. The conductor told officials he attempted to warn the man several times before the accident.

The incident caused at least two SunRail trains to be delayed for an hour.
