"'Til the Medicine Takes" is an eclectic mix of new and old songs from the vast collection of originals and cover works by Athens, Ga.-based rockers Widespread Panic. Full of smart lyrics and body-moving beats, the 12 tracks offer polished versions of the looser live jams that hordes of fans have come to expect and still gather together to experience, even after 13 years.

Featuring songwriting and vocals by all six members, the seventh album showcases the collective's wide-ranging talents. Guest performances by Dottie Peoples ("All Time Low" ), Big Ass Truck ("Dyin' Man" ) and Dirty Dozen Brass Band ("Christmas Katie" ) complete the feeling that the whole is better than separate parts.

On "'Til the Medicine Takes" the potent capture of the veteran band's maturity and its trademark live energy sparks the best studio work to date. It's highly recommended for loyal fans as well as any newcomers to the Panic attack.
