If ever there was a restaurant hotbed in the making, Lake Nona would be it – it's so far away from everything that it's on the developers to provide entertainment for their residents, and they seem to be working to do just that. The Laureate Park section of the planned community will soon house a 300-seat lakeside restaurant, courtesy of the Tavistock Group (remember Timpano Chophouse?) and Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants (the design gurus behind Luma, Prato, Slate and the soon-to-open SOMM).

According to press materials, the "original concept" will be part of the Tavistock Restaurant Collection portfolio, none of whose restaurants are located in Orlando. Developing one in Lake Nona seems a no-brainer, considering Lake Nona was borne from the loins of the Tavistock Group. (Now its residents will get to suckle from the teats of the global investment firm!) Also not a surprise: The yet-to-be-named restaurant will be situated just off Tavistock Lakes Boulevard.

New Laureate Park Waterfront Restaurant and Market to Open This Fall

Currently under construction near the Laureate Park Aquatic Center and future fitness facilities is an original-concept restaurant and market developed by Atlanta-based Concentrics Restaurants, the brains behind Winter Park’s Prato and Luma. The new restaurant will be one of Central Florida’s only waterfront dining experiences with an adjacent coffee shop and market, where both food and a rotating collection of curated products, home goods and locally made merchandise will abound.

For starters, the new restaurant will feature a chic 300-seat dining room overlooking beautiful water views. The food at this yet-to-be-named restaurant will be made with locally sourced ingredients. Chef-driven American dishes, from innovative culinary creations to house-made burgers and wild-caught seafood, will be inspired by the best of the season.

In addition to the restaurant, a market at the entrance to the restaurant will offer convenient meal options that you can grab and take with you on the go. Delicious coffee, freshly assembled salads, hot breakfast sandwiches, and to-go specialty entrées will be available. Another exciting feature: a community table where patrons can sit and sip a latté or tea.

Both the restaurant and market are set to open later this year as part of the award-winning Tavistock Restaurant Collection portfolio, which features 14 fine dining restaurant brands across the U.S.

All in all, this sounds totally cool and not at all like Stepford, Connecticut
