New Harvest sifts through changes

The ovens are cranked to high at New Harvest Bake Shop. The storefront bakery/lunch destination turns out hot and tasty treats from early-morning goodies to after-dinner snacks.

Open for breakfast and lunch, the prize selections are layered between all-natural breads: The hot chicken-salad sandwich with melted cheese ($5.99) comes on a croissant-ish roll that's crisp and flaky, and the Thai chicken wrap ($4.25) is rolled with spicy meat and fresh veggies. Chicken-cheese rolls ($4.25) sell out quickly.

All the baked goods, from flax-seed and sun-dried tomato sticky granola, are made on premises.

Wholesome smoothies complement the breads. The tropical "Gilligan's Island" is awash with fresh pineapple and coconut, while the "Muscle Beach" adds strawberries and protein powder (both $3.75).
