McDonald's has done it again. After giving Ronald McDonald a scary makeover earlier this year, they've rolled out a new character that, without a doubt, wins the creepy character wars: Happy. With bendy arms and legs that look unable to support a couple of fries, much less an entire meal, McDonald's new Happy Meal ambassador was introduced as part of their push for healthier meal options for kids. And to McDonald's, a healthier option means low-fat yogurt with your McNuggests instead of fries.
Enough about the attempt at healthy by McDonald's, though. Just look at that thing above. It's manic eyes are staring at you. It doesn't appear to be wearing any socks. Its eyebrows are made up of golden arches! You guys, that thing is slightly terrifying. We're not the only ones who think so, either. The Internet is blowing up over this new character and it's gaping mouth filled with Chiclet teeth.

Actually, Happy has been a part of the McDonald's character lineup in France since 2009 and has since made his way into the Latin America and European markets as a way to bring "fun and excitement to kids' meals." The disturbing new mascot will make his official U.S. debut on Friday, May 23. If you can't wait that long, here's a little taste of what you can expect from Happy:
