Kissimmee's classy wrasslin' dinner theater

If chowing down on a pizza buffet while watching grown men grapple with each other is your thing, then I'm about to make your day. Next week, you'll be able to do both at Manor Professional Wrestling's dinner theater in Kissimmee on Friday, April 18.

The dinner theater wrestling matches feature an elaborate backstory about two villages -- the Gold Village and the Dark Village -- that are fighting  for the coveted Manor Medallion.  Honestly, the description on the event's website reads like some overcomplicated medieval-themed Dungeon and Dragons player's fantasy wrestling match. I can kinda see what their intentions were, though: to pull in both the die-hard wrestling fans and the Kissimmee themed-dinner theater lovers. But really, part of the beauty of wrestling is the simplicity of the story. You know, good versus evil, period.

Some of the contenders include Vampire Nathan Vain, the Wizard Simon Sez, Lady Laura O'Conner, Dagon of the Dead and Mikey. Yes, Mikey. Not Mikey the Malignant or Mikey the Moronic. (C'mon, jester wrestling? I'd watch that!)

While you're watching the battle for the Manor Medallion go down, you'll be treated (well, OK, you're paying for it) to a savory meal provided by "Platinum Sponsor" Papa John's. Oh, and some other stuff from their really-happy-looking executive chef, Zach Barnes. The food and the fighting will be accompanied by local chick-fronted band Anyone's Guess.

If you wanna get your food fight on next weekend, here are the details:

Date: Friday, April 18

Time: Doors open at 7 p.m., Event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Location: Osceola Heritage Park Exhibition Building, 1875 Silver Spur Lane
