Never mind the whisk, here's Robert Irvine.
Buff British reality show chef Robert Irvine is bringing Restaurant: Impossible to sleepy Orange City this week, hoping to flip Bumbino's Italian on Enterprise Road into something that won't make him gnash his teeth and exclaim, "Cor, blimey! Bollocks!"
Irvine is looking for local volunteers to help with "painting, crafting, construction, remodeling, cleaning [and] decorating" as well as electricians and plumbers who might be up to the task of re-purposing Bumbino's into a lasagna-lover's delight. Monday, Feb. 17 is the deadline to apply, so hurry up and e-mail [email protected] to let them know you're comfortable being on camera and that you can fold some napkins, or whatever you do like nobody's business (also include your full name, phone number, e-mail address, and preferred shift from the dates below). Those wishing to make reservations for Bumbino's grand re-opening on Wednesday may call 386-774-2300.
Orange City residents are of course encouraged to drive by Bumbino's at a slow crawl so their vehicles may be caught on camera in the background of one of Robert's inevitable grime-related rants. Your '87 Oldsmobile with the mismatched hubcaps and the "Bush/Quayle" bumper sticker could be immortalized on basic cable! Them right there is bragging rights for life.
The Bumbino's Restaurant Impossible Volunteer Schedule:
Tuesday Feb. 18: 1-8 p.m
Tuesday Feb. 18: 8 p.m.-2 a.m.
Wednesday Feb. 19: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
