The weekend weather is looking mighty fine. In fact, with skies like these, it might be just the weekend to head to the
Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot.
If it's been a while since you've been out to the FGF, things are a little different now. It's more like a mini International Food & Wine Festival at this point, with the kiosks at every pavilion at World Showcase displaying their country's wares.
The thing you have to eat this time around, if you're not already stuffed by the time you make it to Italy, is the cannoli in the deliciously air-conned wine room at
Tutto Italia. I kid you not, it's probably the best cannoli I've had in life.
What's so great about this little pastry? In two words: the shell. Yes, the filling is typically the star of the show, and this time is really no exception — the balance of ricotta and mascarpone and chocolate chips is just right and not too sweet. But the shell is perfectly light and crisp and yields to the softest bite. More like a delicate tuile cookie than the hard crispy cannoli shell you're probably used to. Anyway, it's fab. Get you one and wash it down with a glass of the Montegrande Fior d’Arancio moscato. Your theme-park jaunt just got a million times better.
Prego.
