E.L. James’ Fifty Shades trilogy might have swung wide-open a door into the BDSM lifestyle – based less on the books’ literary merit and more on its kinky fuckery. But Orlando’s no erotic-play virgin, and we don’t need a lame novel to teach us how it’s done. Our very own BDSM playroom, the Woodshed, offers a wide variety of toys for those who like it rough, and this week Club 57 West hosts the Fetish & Masquerade Ball, a full-on twisted pleasure party complete with dungeon equipment, rope suspensions and Goth/dark wave sounds spun by NYC’s DJ Sane. The latex-laden RubberDoll headlines the evening, and as described by New Times Broward-Palm Beach, “she’s as flexible as the rubber toys she enjoys abusing onstage.” Consider it a mild intro for BDSM newbies, but don’t think for an instant you’ll get away with the just-look-and-don’t-touch approach.
