There is probably no other sign that can compare to the social impact that Aquarius has made. It is a term used to describe a decade of free-loving hippies, a Coca-Cola sports drink and finally, the season 10 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It seems Aquarius is a popular archetype society wants to embody and who can blame them?

Those lucky enough to have been a hipster in Orlando back in 2015 may recall the infamous Mills District studio, the Space. It was an artist collective attempting to throw different creative ideas against a wall in hopes something would stick.
This widely adored but financially scattered business model would best represent the energy of Aquarius in a tangible way. Aquarius is a fixed, stubborn sign that can get stuck in their ways. They don’t exactly enjoy taking advice from others. However, these futuristic dreamers need social interaction for their ideas to eventually flourish. It’s important that Aquarius-dominant charts find, sustain and value connection outside of their own personal ambition. An art collective pursuing social impact through individual creativity is what Aquarius is all about and also what potentially drives the more grounded, financially secure and rational earth signs crazy.

Aquarius is represented by progressive thinking, humanitarian efforts and, best of all, imagination. Aquarius is actually an air sign, represented by two parallel lines of moving liquid. Even though it is a Latin term for water, it has very little to do with H20. In both astrology and tarot, water is a symbol used to represent emotions. However, the energy of this archetype doesn’t waste energy focusing on sentimental feelings, but rather uses their mind and intellect as a skill set. They are thrill-seekers in conversation with a passion for new ideas. Likewise, Aquarius want to be noticed for their offbeat ability to stand out and think differently.

The best part of Aquarius energy lies in its freedom-loving nature. Most astrologers will discuss Aquarians as idealists, who want to be heard making waves in society. This is all well and true. However, what I love most of all about this sign's spirit is the desire to be who they truly are. Described as truthful, Aquarius craves authenticity and uniqueness. They find strength in being fully themselves. This sign simply does what it wants and their “F*$& you, world, and notice my beauty!” attitude is often what art, music and media is all about. People want to have this certain je ne sais quoi that Aquarius exudes. I mean, they’re the only sign confident (or perhaps crazy enough) to dub themselves as the water bearer but actually represent air.

So, it’s quite simple really, Aquarius stands out and they have wild enough ideas to actually change your mind on something. I mean, who wouldn’t want to embrace that energy? Deep down we all desire being our brightest, weirdest selves without fear of judgement or shame. So, in the dawning of the age of Aquarius, let’s continue to bring forward new ideas on how to make the world a better, more accepting place to live.

February Horoscope for Sun Signs:

Aries (March 21-April 19)
Welcome back to the world of air, dear fire signs! You have not had this amount of wind under your wings since October’s Libra season. As Aquarius is transiting the new moon this month and Uranus transits Aries, this cold breeze may shake things up a bit for you but in a positive way. Uranus brings upheavals and alongside Aquarius it will help you release old fixed habits and become more liberated. Aquarius is the perfect energy to start motivating you to embrace new ideas and creative challenges — something Aries is always ready for! Aries is considered the first sign in the Zodiac and labeled No. 1 in a birth chart. This means that the mentality of Aries is often a lone-wolf outlook. Aquarius season is a great time to socialize and start ridding yourself of any conventions which keep you in a status quo. Uranus in Aries will only further push you to get out of your comfort zone. When Mars enters Taurus mid-month, you will feel ready to get back to working diligently towards new changes felt from this season's shake-ups.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Dear baby bulls, the planet of desire, action, sexuality and brotherhood (Mars) is transiting your sign this month. You may find yourself filled with a bit more energy than usual this month and may find yourself having a hard time standing still. Mars directs us towards action and it is right in line with a Taurus’ need for structure and routine work. Be careful not to overdo it on the work or commitment side this month. This pressure to constantly stay busy is part of the month's energy transit for you. With a moon in Aquarius and a Venus in Capricorn, it is actually an ideal time to get out and make connections with people, especially through work or creative projects. The energy of Aquarius this month will make people excited to come together and share ideas.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)
My lovable twins, expect Aquarius season to be a great month for your self-esteem! These two signs really connect over their laissez-faire attitudes toward life. As fellow air signs, you both crave independence, communication and nurturing of one's inner spirit through new ideas. The blocks Gemini can experience in connections with others stems from your indecisive nature. Aquarius asks you to really get to know yourself; and through this full self-understanding (or acceptance) things will become much more clear when it comes to decision making. The energy of the new moon will lift external pressures off you and the release of emotional weight and pressure from Scorpio, Sagittarius and Capricorn season. Aquarius will help you move into a phase where those hang-ups or concerns you’ve been holding onto can be seen as positive wisdom for future changes. Being ruled by Saturn (the planet of wisdom), Aquarius brings in a whole new light and says, "Know yourself, be yourself and f*#%ing own it!"

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
My dear crabs, welcome to the battle of the mind vs. the heart. Cancers are emotional, watery beings with intense, intuitive feelings. Aquarius is all about the mind and logic. These ideologies and energies are drastically different but teach us how to merge our inner bodies. The mental world creates boundaries and space for reflection. The emotional world puts us in touch with our center being and creates compassion and connection with others. These two worlds can find a mutual bridge in the polar wisdom they learn from each other. This month, as Aquarius transits the new moon and Venus enters Capricorn (your opposing sign), you will be asked to try to articulate your emotions in a way that embraces their authenticity. In short, often times we repress emotions due to shame caused in our early years. We simply feel bad for feeling bad. Sometimes Cancers don’t articulate their feelings out of fear of hurting another, so they remain quiet in their shell. Aquarius asks you to lift some of those emotions out of your body and into your mind where you can negotiate why, how and where these feelings are actually coming from. Aquarius helps you rationalize. Known as the water bearer, this sign's energy wants to help lift you out of this emotional state that can quickly spiral. Moving out of feeling into knowing, you can embrace your unique and beautiful sensitive side to attract more of the emotional love you crave. When you learn to open up through a sense of freedom that can only come with truly knowing yourself (i.e. Aquarius), people will take notice and will probably relate better than you ever imagined.

Leo (July 23-Aug.22)
Welcome to a month of passion, love and freedom for my lovely Leos. It’s time to let down your hair and get loosey-goosey in Aquarius season. This month, with a new moon in Aquarius, expect to feel more at ease and comfortable in your own skin. Likewise, Aquarius is a wonderful transiting energy for you because you are both forward thinkers who value heart, optimism and passion. This laid-back sign really speaks to your quick-to-anger temper and helps you let go of those desires to lash out. Aquarius is also a social sign that will make you feel closer to others. Perhaps, this month Aquarius will provide the small bit of air needed to stay in tune with emotional energy as a channel for creating new ideas or projects. Also, when the sun transits Pisces at the end of the month, you may find yourself wanting to help others. Likewise, Venus in Capricorn will help you build solid relationships with others.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
My dear maidens, as Aquarius transits the new moon this month you may feel a bit unlike your usual self. The new moon will begin this month in Aquarius, representing future planning, social connection and releasing restrictions, it may shake your stable, structured core. As an earth sign based in practicality and science, as much as you can appreciate this sign's energy for conversation, you may find that it lacks reason and focus. If you feel a bit out of your normal mindset this month, don’t worry. Go for a walk and breath during tense moments. Often undesirable transits are opportunities for us to go inward and listen to the discomfort, especially when we’re unable to fully rationalize why we’re feeling “off.” The full moon will transit Virgo at the end of the month and it will bring with it all the grounding you need. Just be mindful that a moon in your sun sign really pushes you towards perfection and overanalyzing things. Don’t get caught up harboring feelings of frustration this month if you are feeling more emotional or even aggravated. Aquarius new moon is helping you challenge your usual comfort zone. When the full moon peaks in your sign later in the month, you can carefully evaluate and your mind will be fully clear and open.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
My dear balanced babies, your fellow friend and air sign Aquarius is a great month for you to find a new creative adventure. Aquarius is an inspiring sign for you, they’re not only your close friend in the Zodiac, they’re also someone you just love talking and listening to! Aquarius and Libra share a mutual sense of humor because they love keeping things light. This is a great month to go out to a comedy show or just learn to laugh things off a bit more. When Venus (your ruling planet) enters Capricorn this month don’t be surprised if you feel a bit less romantic and more focused on stability in relationships. Capricorn transiting Venus helps Libras become less idealized about love and more grounded in their approach to relationships. It’s a good reminder that even though not every frog you kiss will become your lifelong prince, Aquarius is there to say, “That’s okay, have fun and kiss him anyway!”

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
My sexy and savory scorpions, Aquarius season is a hell of a unique ride for you. These energies aren’t exactly compatible in the astral world but these two are really intrigued by their mutual magnetism. Where these two connect is that both signs admit a strong, seductive presence that make others notice them. This initial energetic attraction to each other can quickly fade, as Scorpios are far more clear and specific about emotional needs, whereas Aquarius might want to avoid heavy feelings and conversations. This is because the passionate energy of Aquarius is based in future thinking and creating new ideas, not being held back by old behavior patterns. Whereas Scorpios are natural investigators, hoping to dig out past emotional secrets or patterns in others in order to learn something profound. In this sense, the transiting of an Aquarius new moon sign can help you step out of your emotional comfort zone and start navigating new ways to have relationships and perspectives on potential partners. If you’ve been feeling burned by others, Aquarius helps you stop overanalyzing and start rationalizing. Simply, the person you like may have hurt you in some way and maybe you’re still fixated on that. Well, Aquarius says to immediately let that go and start brainstorming new ways to engage or enjoy relationships in the future, so your outcome will be different. When Mars enters Taurus mid-month you may find yourself with more energy to actually make changes in how you approach your relationships.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
As the latter signs in the Zodiac, you and Aquarius share an innate wisdom that helps you both take an easy backseat to life. You both have an optimistic perspective and zest for life that makes you fun to be around. When Aquarius new moon enters early this month, it may be a chance for you to embrace a more soft, yin energy. Where you contradict each other is in your basic elemental differences. Sagittarius is a fire sign, with a strong energy and targeted approach to goals. Aquarius is an air sign, going through life a bit more light and easygoing. It is in this energetic difference that you can gain a lot this month learning how to be more calm in yourself. Aquarius understands your need for independence and self-sufficiency. So, alongside Jupiter in Sagittarius, Aquarius will provide for you this month the ability to seek inner relaxation through yin energy. It would be a great month to take a yoga class, beach trip or night out with friends. This creative, social buzz in the air will excite you.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
My wise goats, Saturn and Venus is still transiting your sign, bringing wisdom in relationships and love. This energy is helping you rationalize and learn from past heartbreaks. It’s a great month of reflection to look back and gain positive pieces of wisdom from your connections. With an Aquarius new moon, you are asked to have more faith in people. As natural critics and skeptics, Capricorns carry faith only in what they’ve experienced and don’t put too much emphasis on breakthroughs in human evolution. Aquarius brings the energy to make you feel a sense of deeper connection with your social surroundings, maybe even with a hint of faith or hope. Saturn and Venus in your sign will really help you find the wisdom you’re seeking — but in others!

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
Welcome home dear water bearers! This is a great month to finally let all of your ideas spill out and get back to the drawing board. As the new moon and sun are in your sign early this month, you may be experiencing an inner transformation of sorts. After a 12-month cycle, when the planets return to your sun sign, it brings a whole new energy forward. When it comes to Aquarius, it is always about new, unique energy coming forward. Simply, perhaps you feel the need to get a new haircut or wardrobe. Aquarius new moon will bring with it a reevaluation of who you currently are, who you want to be and how to start merging those energies. This month is all about reinvention — Madonna in the 1990s style. So, out with the old, in comes a new Aquarius unfolding their new layer of beauty this month.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
To my little underwater fishes, we are nearly at your sun season! As Aquarius new moon transits, it isn’t exactly your most compatible astral energy but you can move through it rather unnerved. Pisces really values emotional vulnerability — whereas Aquarius doesn’t give enough time to even reflect on their emotions, let alone know how to expose them. Thankfully, the sun will enter pisces on February 18, helping you feel closer to others. Mercury (the planet of communication) will also transit pisces on February 10 and these energies emerging will heighten your intuition and help you speak your mind. Together, these energies may simply help you be a good listener to others and you may be called upon to do so. Aquarius moon says listen to your logic and Mercury in Pisces says listen to your intuition. It will be a good challenge for you this month to help others work through their trials, you may learn a lot about yourself and your approach to communication in relationships.
