Former WKMG meteorologist Elizabeth Hart launches home-renovation show

Fans of HGTV-style shelter porn have a newly local focus for their enthusiasm: Former WKMG meteorologist Elizabeth Hart launches her new show Ready, Set, Renovate on April 8.

Hart became interested in home renovation when she purchased some investment properties, improved them, and rented them out. That’s when she fell in love with seeing how homes can fulfill their potential, she says.

The first 13 episodes cover projects including beach houses, condos, a historic mixed-use building in Winter Park, a gut renovation of an 8,000- square-foot Isleworth house, and a "massive" landscape makeover in West Orange County. Other segments include Hart shopping for antiques in Ivanhoe Village, a visit to a master cabinetmaker in Sanford, an interview with one of the Highwaymen artists, and "following a wildlife wrestler as he tackles a sticky situation with an invasive frog species."

No, we don't know what a wildlife wrestler is either.

The half-hour home improvement show will air Saturdays at noon on WKMG-Channel 6.
