Extreme watersports fest Soaked takes over Lake Eola

Friday-Saturday, Sept. 7-8 – Soaked 11 a.m. Lake Eola Park 195 N. Rosalind Ave. soakedorlando.com $10-$20

There’s a wealth of bad-ass watersport athletes living in Orlando. That’s why we’re actually surprised a large-scale event like this one has never been staged on downtown’s Lake Eola before now. Get ready for two days of extreme watersports – wakeboarding, waterskiing and cable kneeboarding – as well as more than 20 live bands playing along the shore-side stages. Electro-rock duo Breathe Carolina and DJ Travie McCoy (of Gym Class Heroes) are the headlining acts. And there will be plenty of food and drink vendors, trampoline demos, car and motorcycle shows, and illuminated night ski jumps to carry you through the weekend. – Aimee Vitek
