Are you a female athlete? Do you know how to play basketball? Do you look good in a bikini?
If so, you’re invited to try out for the new, local Bikini Basketball Association team, the Orlando LadyCats.
The Bikini Basketball Association, which was founded this year and consists of eight teams – Orlando LadyCats, Miami Spice, Atlanta Peaches, Chicago Desire, New York Knockouts, Minnesota Mist, Hollywood Hotties and Los Angeles Ice – will start play next spring/summer.
The BBA is a similar venture to the Lingerie Football League, a female-focused tackle-football organization, which we wrote a cover story on back in August 2010’s “Balls Out,” and also covered in September 2010’s “Fumble.”
Owner Mic Madison II says the formation of the local BBA team offers a chance to, “show the rest of the league the basketball talent and beauty Orlando has to offer.”
Orlando LadyCats tryouts will take place at 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the RDV Sportsplex in Maitland. Interested players are asked to wear shorts and a sports bra, bring a personal bio and resume. Players will be chosen based on “skill, personality, athleticism, drive, attitude and appearance.”
