Sunday, Dec. 11Kira Small and Bryan Beller

We hate to brag – and by “hate,” we mean “love” – but last year, CNN.com ran a wide-eyed piece on the rise of house shows throughout the U.S., keyed off a Georgia living-room performance by this easy-listening duo. Orlando wasn’t mentioned as one of their hot spots, but Small and Beller recently released a live album called Live at the White Houseour White House. Benoit Glazer’s three-story, wired-for-sound Timucua White House has been a haven for intimate, artsy-fartsy gatherings for long enough now for all of us to take no small measure of pride in it. In advance of this show, Small says, “We’ve had the pleasure of playing house concerts all over the country, but none of them looked anything like what we experienced that night last year.” Yes, it’s a place of magic, and now the duo, whose friendly piano-and-bass R&B-lite might also be called Anglo-soul, return for a bit more of the special sauce. Suck it, CNN! – Justin Strout (7:30 p.m. at Timucua White House, 2000 S. Summerlin Ave.; free; 407-595-2713; timucua.com)
