Wake up, little susies. When the weekly dance party known simply as the Sock Hop called it quits, a buncha cats cut out the local dance scene, requiring their favorite '50s and '60s hits to get down. Well, those folks can cool it now, and for anyone who never experienced it - get hyped. Cuz Sock Hop is back, and it's kicking off at Backbooth every Monday starting May 5 at 11 p.m. (RSVP)
Expect to yakkety yak in your blue suede shoes and chantilly lace and whathaveyou every week, because if this revival is anything like the previous nights, it's going to be a party. And anyone who checked out Harrypalooza a week ago (or Midnight Mass, or Shake 'n Bass) knows Backbooth is a rad setting for party people.
Sock Hop attendees tend to go overboard dressing the part, so feel free to grease up before heading out next week. Anybody know if they're still gonna do the free whiskey shots every hour? That's a pretty guaranteed way to get toe up.
