Baggin' bargains at super Sacks

If there's one thing better than good food, it's cheap food. And you'll find plenty of both at Sacks, a bargain supermarket in an ancient shopping plaza north of College Park.

The euphoria in the air reminded us of the shoplifting scene in the "Been Caught Stealing" video by Jane's Addiction, with shoppers gleefully packing carts with remarkably low-priced food stuffs.

The inventory constantly fluctuates. How about four pounds of bananas for $1? Or Del Monte pineapples slashed to $1.49? Some of the dry goods have scuffed packaging but are otherwise in good shape, like boxes of Andes chocolate mints for 88 cents and bags of chips, 12 for $1. There is a second Sacks in Winter Garden.
