The sprawling estate at 205 Hacienda Drive in Merritt Island has sold for a monstrous sum of money befitting its nickname of "White House of the South."
The 15,000-square-foot riverfront mansion sold for a tidy $4.5 million, making it the second most expensive home sale in Brevard County history, according to the Orlando Business Journal.
The main house, dubbed the Hacienda del Sol, is nestled on a 7.7 acre property on the Indian River. The house boasts 11 bedrooms, 12.5 bathroomsand 10 fireplaces. The property also includes bell-and-whistles like a tennis court, jacuzzi, elevator, saltwater pool, koi pond, guest house, pool house, wine cellar, pavilion and plenty of imported marble tile.
The house even comes with a storied history — that one's free of charge — as a sumptuous hosting site for presidents like Lyndon Johnson, John F. Kennedy and sundry astronauts during the space race. And Dave Thomas of Wendy's once called Hacienda del Sol home.
