**UPDATE** One of our own on Jeopardy tonight!

Thaddeus McCollum, copyeditor for Orlando Weekly, will be on Jeopardy tonight at 7 p.m. (EST) on Channel 9.

Tune in to watch him womp the competition with his vast knowledge of all things trivial and universally important.

To prepare for the veritable brain bowl of the nation, he said he spent studied every day for about a month before his appearance on the show.

"You get about 30 days from when they call you to when your taping is, so I spent several hours a day going through past games on j-archive.com," he said.

He first had to pass an online test, then he went to New Orleans--coincidentally on his birthday last year--for the second round.

Thad is one of a small handful of contestants to come from Orlando, Fla. and make it on the show. Apparently our city is famous for Will's Pub, among other things (Disney, cough), which he realized after visiting Culver City, Cali. for the first time.

For the bio part of the introduction ceremony on Jeopardy, Alex Trebek gave him a set of questions to answer, then picked his favorites. Tune in tonight to find out what he had to say about Orlando, his wedding on doomsday (Dec. 21, 2012), and let's see if he wins the game!

We're all rooting for you, Thad!
