A 12-foot beach alligator was caught in Florida this week, giving us yet another reason to never go in the ocean.

Look at this damn thing.

The massive alligator was caught on Vero Beach Sunday night, according to a Facebook post from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.

Though extremely rare, alligators can be found in salt water but can typically only tolerate it for a few hours. This guy was likely lost.

The department helped a professional trapper capture the reptile after a resident spotted it near Saint Christopher Lane. According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, the gator will be "relocated" to a safe area.
