First home delivery of medical marijuana goes to Pasco County patient

After announcing last week its approval from Florida's Health Department to dispense medical cannabis, Trulieve says it has made the first home delivery of low-THC marijuana to a patient in Pasco County.

The Associated Press reports the company delivered the medical marijuana to patient in Hudson suffering from dystonia, a condition that causes involuntary muscle contractions, causing repetitive or twisting movements.

This type of medical marijuana is low in the chemical that causes euphoric highs and is only available for patients with cancer or a medical condition that causes chronic seizures or muscle spasms.

Trulieve CEO Kim Rivers says the company's products will be sold to patients in a processed form through different mediums, such as capsules, syringes, tinctures and vaporizers. Trulieve plans to being in-store sales at its Tallahassee dispensary after a press conference where it will conduct its first transaction.
