City's Parramore policy null and void

BREAKING NEWS: The city's decade-old policy of forbidding social service agencies from expanding or locating in Parramore is dead as of March 19, when the city attorney's office sent a letter to the Florida Commission of Human Relations stating that they realized - after only eight years - this policy violated the state's Fair Housing Act. Whoopsie.

Anyway, this is going in the paper this week, and maybe online before. So stay tuned..

UPDATE: Turns out this was a little immature. The city did indeed decide its policy was illegal under federal law a month ago, then - for no particular reason - decided it was.
