King Bao, an Asian restaurant with three locations in the Orlando area, announced this week it will close its Winter Park eatery.

The last day of business for the bao destination is Saturday, Dec. 28.

“After much thought and consideration, we’ve made the decision not to renew our lease at our Winter Park location,” the store announced in an Instagram post. “We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who supported us along the way.”

With the closure of its Fairbanks Avenue location, King Bao joins the ranks of several popular local spots closing in Orlando this year, including Hamburger Mary’s, Doshi, Pom Pom’s Teahouse and Sandwicheria and Farm and Haus.

Fortunately for fans of steamed buns stuffed with deliciousness, King Bao’s two remaining locations — one on Mills Avenue and one on East Colonial Drive near the University of Central Florida —will remain open.

“Your loyalty and patronage have meant the world to us,” the post reads. “Please continue to support our other two locations.”
