There’s plenty to do this weekend in Orlando. From alligator parties to art installations to science-infused cocktails, here’s all the weekend events to check out around the city.

Orlando Museum of Art’s Florida Prize in Contemporary Art Opening Night
6 p.m. Friday, May 29
Orlando Museum of Art
The Orlando Museum of Art’s cornerstone Florida Prize in Contemporary Art exhibition opens this week. The exhibition brings together compelling work by progressive artists from across the Sunshine State, and this year’s show features the largest selection of emerging artists yet. One artist will be awarded the $20,000 Florida Prize (announced at this very party), chosen by this year’s juror, Jade Powers, the Hugh Kaul Curator of Contemporary Art at the Birmingham Museum of Art. The show runs through Aug. 23.

Weird Al
8 p.m. Friday, May 29
Kia Center
From Queen and Lady Gaga to Nirvana and Coolio, no song is safe from a Weird Al Yankovic parody. Writing comedy songs and making spoofs of chart hits since 1976, Yankovic brings comedy to music with accordions, a knack for clever wordplay and an ever-present bemused smirk.

Science Night Live
8 p.m. Saturday, May 30
Orlando Science Center
Science Night Live is back at the Orlando Science Center with an evening of enlightening fun just for adults. Optical illusions, trivia, guest experts, displays and telescopes to watch the night sky are among the many interactive parts of this evening bash. Guests will have access to all four floors of the Center, where they can grab light bites and beverages adult and otherwise.

Spooky Empire
Friday to Sunday, May 29 to 31
DoubleTree by Hilton Orlando Theme Park Resort
Horror convention Spooky Empire is back to mark the (almost) halfway point to Halloween here in Orlando. The con features celebrity meet-and-greets and photo-ops, vendors selling all manner of eerie wares, horrifying live music, cosplay aplenty and a “tattoo-fest” highlighting Florida horror tattoo artists like Jeremy Scott of Hare and Hounds Tattoo. Celebs this year include horror favorites like Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger), CJ Graham (Jason Voorhees) and many more culled from classics like Child’s Play or newer titles like IT: Welcome to Derry. Oh yeah, and a little band of cosmic marauders named GWAR.

Voltaire
7 p.m. Saturday, May 30
The Abbey
Gothic renaissance man Aurelio Voltaire has tried his hand at a bit of everything — musician, writer, artist, actor, director, stop-motion animator, dark lifestyle guide and (ahem) the “Martha Stewart of macabre homemakers” — with no small degree of success. But it’s his feature film The Demonatrix that he’s currently turned his fearsome focus on. It screens this weekend at The Abbey.

Milk Mart 10th anniversary
Noon, Sunday May 31
East Robinson Street and North Bumby Avenue
Milk Mart is back at the Milk District Sunday, celebrating 10 years of giving “small and local creators a place to showcase their work.” Milk Mart began in 2016 with only 20 vendors. Now, the event has grown to over 300 food, drink, goods and art vendors, including Chapter 11 Vintage, Friendly Noodle Artworks and Not a Broken Record.

Gatorpalooza
Saturday and Sunday
Gatorland
Gatorland’s 7th annual Gatorpalooza celebrates all things Floridian and reptilian this weekend. There will be specialty food, live music, art and craft vendors, games, kid-friendly activities and the coveted “Florida Man Challenge.” All in addition to Gatorland’s usual mess of wild things to do.
