No civilians were shot by local law enforcement officers who responded to the mass shooting at the gay nightclub Pulse in 2016, says Orange-Osceola State Attorney Aramis Ayala.
A review of the shooting found that Orlando Police officers, Orange County Sheriff’s deputies and other law enforcement fired more than 180 shots during the incident that began when gunman Omar Mateen stormed Pulse at 2:02 a.m. on June 12.
None of those bullets hit the 49 victims who were killed at Pulse or any survivors, according to an investigation conducted by the state attorney’s office.
Ayala issued clearance letters to all the law enforcement officers who fired their weapons during the Pulse mass shooting.
