Reaching outside the celeb chef’s signature Floribbean and New World cuisines, 1921 by Norman Van Aken has launched an international theme for its popular Sunday supper series.
This Sunday, Jan. 14, the kitchen crew, including executive chef Camilo Velasco and pastry chef Gloriann Rivera, is putting together an Israeli dinner full of Middle Eastern favorites.
On the menu: lamb kofta, hummus, tzatziki, cucumber salad, tabbouleh, falafel, a themed dessert and warm pita from the restaurant’s wood-burning oven. Watch it come out of the oven in the teaser video the restaurant posted to Instagram this week.
Dinner for two is just $50, and all the dishes are served family-style. Call the restaurant at 352-385-1921 for reservations, or book on OpenTable if you have phone phobia.
