The former home of Daybreak Diner on Curry Ford, which closed last month, will soon be the site of rampant hash-slinging again.

Daybreak Diner at 3335 Curry Ford Road abruptly closed its doors in late June, marking a jarring end to 27 years in business. This left a big void in both locals’ stomachs and the Dover Shores Shopping Center — and please note, that is our Best Strip Mall, as per last year’s Best of Orlando®.

According to Orlando Business Journal, Paulie Krasniqi — the son of the owner of the original Johnny’s Diner now on University Boulevard, Johnny Krasniqi — and his cousins Marian and Martin Luca will be taking over the Daybreak space and renovating the spot to the tune of $200,000. (There is another Johnny’s Diner in Casselberry, run by Krasniqi’s sister, Linda Prekaj, which has been up and running for a couple years now. But it ain’t a family feud.)

This new Johnny’s Diner is tentatively set to open in October.
