And you thought the holidays were over!
This weekend (Jan. 27-28), the Central Florida Fairgrounds will play host to this year’s Vietnamese New Year Festival, which is always a good time for food lovers and those who appreciate the vibrance Vietnamese residents bring to our city.
Watch the Facebook promo video for the event here.
The event will run from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free, but bring plenty of cash for food and craft vendors, plus a hefty appetite. The temperature should be in the mid-60s and it’ll be cloudy, so that pho will be seriously satisfying.
You’ll want to start off your visit with Tasty Chomps food blog founder Ricky Ly, who will give a food tour of the event starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Meet at the gate promptly at 10 a.m. to start the journey.
Along with ridiculously good food from North, Central and South Vietnam, you’ll find cultural performances like singing, theatre and traditional dance.
Bring the brood because there will be a kids’ area including carnival games, bounce houses and more.
