Universal Orlando releases details about upcoming Fast & Furious attraction

Universal just released a few details on their upcoming Fast & Furious attraction, which is great news for those of you who live your life a quarter mile at a time.

This morning, the company announced the new Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction will be based on a new storyline featuring characters and cars from the films, as well as custom vehicles for the ride.

The attraction starts off with riders making their way through the underground headquarters of the Fast family, as music and scenes from the franchise is heard. While they travel to a post-race after-party, they’ll have to go through a high-speed chase in a custom (tricked-out) party bus to escape Owen Shaw.

Riders will be able to see and take photos with 12 cars featured in the movies, like Dom’s iconic Charger and Letty’s turbo truck. The attraction will also include three new vehicles specifically designed for the experience.

Classic characters from the film, like Dom (Vin Diesel), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Chris “Ludacris” Bridges) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) will be incorporated into the ride.

There will also be features from newer characters, former agent Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and criminal mastermind Owen Shaw (Luke Evans), as well.

“Although we’ve been living with these characters for 15 years, it was new territory to create something as immersive as this that the fans of our franchise can actually live through, (and) be a part of,” Diesel said in a teaser video about the ride.

Visitors of the attraction will be able to use the new virtual line system to select specific times to ride , rather than waiting in line. They can do so by using the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App or kiosks near the ride.

As we previously reported, the high-speed chase attraction will open in Spring 2018.
