The Brick Fan Event is taking over Dezerland Park Orlando this weekend, May 2–3, bringing a full lineup of LEGO® builds, interactive experiences, and hands-on activities for all ages.

If you grew up with LEGO®, this is the kind of event that instantly taps into that nostalgia. And if you didn’t, it’s still one of those easy, go-to weekend options that works for just about anyone. Whether you’re planning something with friends, bringing the kids, or just looking to get out of the house, this is a solid pick that doesn’t require a ton of planning.

At the center of the event are the builds themselves, and that’s really where it stands out. The Brick Fan Event brings together hundreds of detailed LEGO® creations from fans and professional builders around the world. Expect everything from large-scale cities and castles to trains, monorails, and custom builds that go far beyond what you’d normally see. Some displays are massive, others are packed with detail, and it’s the kind of setup where you’ll keep noticing new things the longer you look.

But it’s not just about walking through and looking. There’s a strong interactive side that makes it easy to spend a few hours here without getting bored. One of the main attractions is the 125-foot LEGO® RC off-road race track, where guests can watch or get involved. There are also build-and-race stations where you can create your own LEGO® cars and test them out, which tends to be a hit across all ages.

For those who want something more hands-on, there are areas dedicated to building mosaics, contributing to larger collaborative builds, or just creating something from scratch. There’s even an architect-style zone that gives you more freedom to experiment with different designs. It’s a good mix of structured activities and open-ended creativity, so you can move through it however you want.

Families with younger kids will appreciate the dedicated Kids Zone, which is filled with thousands of Duplo bricks. It’s designed to be a little more approachable and gives younger builders a space to play without getting overwhelmed by the larger exhibits.

Another highlight is the chance to see builders from the hit TV show LEGO® Masters. Featured guests will be on-site throughout the weekend, giving attendees the opportunity to check out their work up close. It adds another layer to the experience, especially if you’re already familiar with the show or just curious about how these builds come together.

There’s also a vendor area where you can browse for rare LEGO® sets, minifigures, and collectibles. Whether you’re a serious collector or just looking for something unique to take home, it’s worth taking a walk through. You’ll find a mix of items you don’t typically see in stores, along with some fun finds for casual fans.

What makes this event easy to recommend is how flexible it is. You don’t need to plan your entire day around it or commit to a long schedule. You can go for a couple of hours, check everything out, try a few activities, and still feel like you got a full experience. It’s also indoors, which makes it a reliable option regardless of the weather.

It’s also not just for kids. While it’s definitely family-friendly, there’s enough detail and creativity in the builds to keep adults interested too. Whether you’re going for the nostalgia, the creativity, or just something different to do, it doesn’t feel like you’re tagging along to a kids-only event.

If your weekend calendar is still open, this is one of those easy add-ins that doesn’t require much overthinking. You can show up, explore at your own pace, and make it whatever kind of outing you want it to be.
