PHOTOS: First look at Pipeline, SeaWorld Orlando’s new stand-up roller coaster

SeaWorld's newest "surf-themed" roller coaster, Pipeline,  is almost open as Orlando patiently waits for the stand-up thrill. Pipeline's official opening date is May 27, but columnist Seth Kubersky attended the media opening, took pictures and got on the ride for himself.

Pipeline: The Surfing Coaster was first announced back in October of last year. It's the seventh coaster at the theme park, which fancies itself the Coaster Capital of the World. Riders are launched 110 feet up in the air— while standing up, might we add — on surfboard-style platforms that mimic the feel of riding the waves. Cowabunga!
