Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago raided, Florida politicians react

FBI agents raided former president Donald Trump's Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida on Monday.

The search appears to be related to Trump's handling of classified documents. The former president and current hotelier was in New York at the time of the raid, according to a source who spoke to CNN.

Eric Trump appeared to confirm that the raid was related to documents that may have been at Mar-A-Lago.

“The purpose of the raid, from what they said, was because the National Archives wanted to, you know, corroborate whether or not Donald Trump had any documents in his possession.,” he said in an interview with Sean Hannity.

"These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents," Trump said in a statement. "They even broke into my safe!"

The raid drew reactions from politicians across Florida, with Democrats celebrating the move and Republicans decrying the end of democracy as we know it. Take a look at their reactions below.

“You would expect there to be subpoenas if there was any suspect of classified information — requesting documents — as has been done in these similar cases, not 30 FBI agents rushing in on a search warrant,” Moody told Fox News. “It is certainly unusual. And I tell you what, the charges, if there are any the allegations, this better be a rock solid case to wreck whatever respect there is right now for the FBI.”
