A rare Weeki Wachee spring house hits the market for $1.3 million

A waterfront home that sits along the most touristy stretch of river in the Tampa Bay area is now on the market.

Located at 6666 W. Richard Drive, the home was built in 1987 and sits on the turquoise blue, manatee-loving main section of the Weeki Wachee River.

The location is really what's for sale, since there aren't a lot of houses set directly on this small stretch of the blue ribbon. It's also just slightly upstream from Rogers Park, and only a few paddles down from the intensely popular Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.

Featuring riverboat tours, mermaid shows and a water park, Weeki Wachee State Park is a classic Florida attraction that sits at the starting point of the river, which produces about 117 million gallons of 72- to 74-degree water every single day.

The three-story, 2,712-square-foot residence comes fully furnished, with a total of three bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as a four-car garage, two screened-in patios, a Sub-Zero refrigerator and wine cooler, granite countertops, a private dock and a whole lot of deck.

The home is also currently being offered as a vacation rental, charging about $425 per night.

According to property records, the home was last sold in 2005 for $522,000. The current asking price is $1.3 million, and the listing agent is Ashley Rodriguez of JT Realty & Associates.
