Outside of the tonier parts of downtown, we don’t think interesting when we think Winter Park. The suburb that isn’t is largely made up of homes that scream tract. So, we were more than a little surprised to come across this metastasized dingbat with an incredible array of additions in the backyard.

The home at 624 Monmouth Way is seemingly two residences: a yellow, nautical-themed upstairs unit with a covered potch on top, a nice ranch on the bottom. While the interior is nice, we can’t stress enough that the real draw of this home is out back.

Strutting past the pool, you’ll find an incredible garden with ponds, footbridges and mature fruit trees. Back among the garden is a massive workshop. Turn back toward the house and you’ll find a shaggy shack that houses a hot tub secluded from the rest of the yard.

Most importantly, the garden already has a tenant. An adult turtle calls the water features home.

The house at 624 Monmouth Way is represented by Carmen Serrano Giubilei of Re/Max. The sellers are asking $685K.
