The shelter is full (shelter management has reported a 74 percent increase in the number of animals being surrendered to the shelter by their owners this summer), so if you’re thinking of adopting a dog, don’t delay! Normal dog-adoption fees are $55, but during the month of July adoption fees are waived for all current and former military personnel. A valid Military ID or a copy of the DD Form 214 with honorable discharge is required for this promotion. Each adoption includes sterilization, vaccinations and a pet microchip.
